Paper Rain Performances, a Vancouver-based concert producer, today announced it will present music legend Jon Bon Jovi and the Kings of Suburbia in Vancouver's Stanley Park on August 22. This concert will kick off the Urban Forest concert series - a concept based on the vision of presenting the world's greatest artists in the world's grandest outdoor venues.

"Our team has been working on this project for more than two years to present a variety of global superstars in breathtaking outdoor settings. These spectacular concerts will establish a new standard in concert production," said Dennis MacDonald, President and Executive Producer of Paper Rain Performances. "We chose Jon Bon Jovi and the Kings of Suburbia to launch the Urban Forest concert series because he is one of the most widely-recognized and well-respected musicians in the world having sold over 130 million albums."

The executive team, including Arthur Griffiths - well-known Vancouver businessman, philanthropist and former owner of the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Grizzlies and GM Place - is dedicated to bringing a new level of entertainment excellence to this concert series while minimizing the environmental impact on the Park. Beyond its commitment to sustainability, Paper Rain Performances will donate up to $100K of profit from ticket sales to imagine1day - a charitable organization whose mandate is to ensure that all people in Ethiopia have access to quality education free of foreign aid by 2030.

"I have been very fortunate to be involved in many large-scale productions in my career and this ranks up there with the best of them," said Arthur Griffiths, Executive Producer of Paper Rain Performances. "While scouting locations around the world for upcoming shows, we realized there's nowhere more spectacular than Stanley Park in the summer time. We wanted to launch the concert series here at home in Vancouver."

"This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, much more than a regular concert," said Paul Sontz, Tourism Vancouver's manager of Cultural Tourism and Tickets Tonight. "Picture it: Jon Bon Jovi and the Kings of Suburbia rocking out under a canopy of trees while thousands of visitors and locals enjoy his iconic music. It's the largest concert that Tickets Tonight has sold to date, and we're so pleased to be part of the excitement."
