Julesworks presents edition twenty-four of Santa Fe's Monthly Variety Show, The Julesworks Follies, on Monday, March 31st at 7 pm. Julesworks continues to stage their show at the newly reopened Jean Cocteau Cinema at 418 Montezuma, their current home.

The Julesworks Follies commemorates their 24th entry as Santa Fe's only Monthly Variety Show and hope to end Women's Month with an extra bang and a little feminine touch, Julesworks style. This also ends Julesworks' second year of existence and so they plan to celebrate their birthday as such with their April show, as this is also around what happens to be the 40th birthday for Mr. Jules. But that isn't important right now.

What is important is the show continues with our mix of live performance, music, comedy, theatre, poetry, dance, Monty Python sketches, snippets of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy BBC radioplay and much more.

New this month will be branching off as The Julesworks Rip Off Team dips into material appropriate for showing how much more amazing women are with a snippet from Portlandia's famous Feminist Bookshop owners directed by Greg Sonnenfeld with Chris Diestler, Leticia Cortez and joining in the sketches for the first time will be Al Staggs.

Jules will present a rare gem of a Lily Tomlin sketch that is so old it is in black and white in which Lily Tomlin looks amazingly young and hot. Jules will be neither but hopes to convey the feminine power and genius of Lily Tomlin.

The Full-On Monty Python Copyright Infringement Experience aka The Monty Python Recreation Brigade Squad Posse aka Crunchy, Raw, Un-Boned, Real, Dead Frog Parrot Droppings recreates original Monty Python material including sketches, snippets of their films and the Pepperpots. This month they pull our some more of the lesser known gems The Fake Psychiatrist sketch and the beloved Hungarian Phrasebook sketch including the 2nd part in the courtroom. Tom Sibley, Jules, Leticia Cortez, Nicolai Pedersen, Greg Sonnenfeld, and Chris Diestler and Stephen Rommel. The very young Pedersen, who studies theatre at the NM School for Arts, joins back up, bringing a youthful passion and fun.

The Julesworks Improving Improv, returns with a vengeance with more of their Three Headed Wizard, and new games including a sort of invention Instant Commercial with audience input as well as doing Improv Songs. Players include: Sonnenfeld, Engstorm, Cortez, Sibley, Paul, Rommel, Diestler, Sylvannus Paul, Pedersen and Al Staggs joins for the first time and possibly others.

Chris Diestler returns as the host/emcee and to perform in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Reading. Diestler is an all-around performer, emcee and DJ with Hutton Broadcasting and much more.

Our Very Special Guest Joe West returns with some original songs and as a new character in the serialized play by Julesworks "Whatever You Do Chatting with God?."

The wonderful musician Joie Flare returns as well with her upbeat songs and beautiful voice.

Another component launched recently which is almost no longer new and that will continue is a serialized reading of snippets of the BBC Radio Play Versions of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" with Diestler and Jules and bringing into the mix Rommel and Pedersen.

Our resident musician Greg Turner continues to play selections of his world famous catchy bizarre fun music.

Patrick Chavez continues performing Zoe's Stories. Patrick represents the core ethos of the Follies in that twenty months ago he shared stories he had hand written for his daughter, so female power flows all thru Zoe's tales.

Al Staggs returns his unique comic impersonations. Al does his shockingly accurate versions of cherished comedians. He has performed in many of the 24 shows and now will join in both our rip off sketches and improv.

Julesworks presents the 24th chapter of their serial, with a newly expanded title, "Whatever You Do Chatting with God ", starring Jules, Tom Sibley, Joe West, and introducing Chris Diestler to the mix.

Other Loyalists who perform almost monthly who will return include:

Tom Sibley presenting snippets of his unique one-man comedy and as a member of the Jworks Rip-Off Squads and their Serialized Play. Sibley's star as a stand up comedian continues to rise. He is a married to a woman so must like them a lot.

Experimentalist Andrew Kirkpatrick returns with a new piece combining his talents as a singer (Karaoke Master), electronic musician and more.

Leticia Cortez will present a snippet of her original writings with her signature style and social themes. Cortez also participates in many of Julesworks' sketches and steps in as the feminist bookshop owner, as it is she who made us realize we should commemorate women's month.

Also retuning is last month's newcomer the poetess Sasha LaPointe, a Game of Thrones fanatical loyal patron to the Jean Cocteau who in a coming month may do some burlesque. Julesworks also plans to have more original material including a sketch by Sonnenfeld of a yong woman on some noteworthy dates, played by newcomer Miquella Kessler.

Other new scenes will hopefully be launched, including tiny snippets of important news updates by our cast and perhaps some funny animal hats.

Some more pieces and tidbits may be confirmed and announced shortly.

The Open Slot Slot will carry on to possibly allow a quick piece by interested audience members.

Tickets will be $7 to support Julesworks and the newly re-opened Jean Cocteau and your community artists. They will stage the Julesworks Raffle of goodies and prizes donated from restaurants, merchants and artists across Santa Fe to support Julesworks' effort to stage this community monthly variety show.

Tickets are available now at www.jeancocteaucinema.com.

The show will carry on towards the end of each month; with the Jean Cocteau seeming like it will be Julesworks' home. They plan a little extra special to launch year three with their April show on Tuesday April 29th, to celebrate their birthday and Jules' that is on the 24th.
