USITT will offer a half-day workshop teaching airbrush makeup techniques and special effects like cuts and bruises on Sept. 20 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Norcostco Makeup Manager Kelsey Kruse will teach the class in the morning and afternoon to increase availability.

The class is part of USITT Presents, a training series offering low-cost continuing education opportunities year-round and nationwide. The cost for this session is just $25 for USITT members, $20 for student/early career members, and $30 for non-members. Register here.

An Introduction to Airbrushing Assembly and Techniques will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and repeated from 2 to 6 p.m. Kruse will teach how to use two different compressors and three airbrush guns and assist participants with hands-on techniques. She'll devote the last 90 minutes of class to creating makeup cuts, scrapes, and bruises.

Participants receive a 20 percent discount on a makeup purchase through Norcostco-Dallas for attending the class.

Kelsey Kruse is a Dallas-based certified makeup artist, hair stylist, actor, musician and teacher with five years of professional makeup experience. She has a BFA in Theatre Performance from Oklahoma State University and certification in Theatre Arts.
