St Petersburg City Theatre continues their 90th Mainstage Season, presented by Raymond James, with Philip Grecian's A CHRISTMAS STORY. City Theatre will be collecting canned goods, toiletries, and child-friendly non-perishable foods in the lobby to support YWCA Tampa Bay's Family Village at every performance of A CHRISTMAS STORY.

More information about Family Village can be found here: http://www.ywcaoftampabay.org/site/c.8fLJLQPpEfL0H/b.8602459/k.281E/Family_Village_Housing_and_Support_Services.htm

Opening night is December 5 and the production runs through December 21, playing Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Lobby will open 1 hour prior the show, with doors to the audience chamber opening 30 minutes prior to the show.

Directed by Stephen Bell, A CHRISTMAS STORY is based on humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s, following 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. All the elements of the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; school bully Scut Farkas; the boys' experimentation with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning "A Major Award," the infamous lamp shaped like a woman's leg and more!
