San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) Artistic Director, Dr. Timothy Seelig, announced the holiday performances for the 37th season, featuring Dancers, Prancers & Vixens! with special guests Well-Strung, the singing string quartet, for three performances, this weekend, December 12 - 13 at Nourse Theater (275 Hayes St, San Francisco). As an iconic San Francisco institution, SFGMC presents the traditions of the holidays in an only-in-San-Francisco way. Starring the 275 men of the chorus, appearances by Santa, his elves and reindeer, a 1980s nativity scene and an ugly sweater parade; the evening will present a festive twist on holiday traditions. Performances are Friday, December 12 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 13 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets for the DANCERS, PRANCERS & VIXENS range in price from $25 - $65 and are available now by visiting www.SFGMC.org or by calling City Box Office at 415.392.4400.

"One of my greatest pleasures each year is planning the holiday concerts, because SFGMC has the ability stretch the boundaries like no other performing arts organization," says Seelig. "We'll have dancers and plenty of prancers and of course, 275 irresistible and ridiculously enticing vixens, who will treat audiences to gorgeous, familiar and festive fare of every kind."

Called "the hottest thing with a bow since Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games" by the New York Daily News, Well-Strung will join the Chorus as they present their own spin on the music of Mozart, Vivaldi, Pink, Lorde, Kesha, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson and more. Having quickly gained national and international attention for their unique mashup of string quartet and boy band, Well-Strung will be collaborating with SFGMC to present never-before-seen, festive holiday selections. Along with traditional favorites, Dancers, Pracers & Vixens will also include the world premiere of a new piece by Ola Gjeilo, one of America's most prominent contemporary composers.

This holiday season marks the 25th year that SFGMC returns to the Castro Theatre for (429 Castro Street, San Francisco) on Christmas Eve for the Home for the Holidays performances. To celebrate the milestone, SFGMC welcomes home Broadway super-star Lisa Vroman, San Francisco icon Donna Sachet and other surprise guests on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The chorus will be taking its holiday show to the North Bay, with a performance on Friday, December 6, 2014 at 8 p.m at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts (50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa). A portion of the proceeds from the performance will be donated to Face to Face Sonoma County AIDS Network. Additionally, SFGMC will be joined by The Choral Project in a festive concert in Santa Cruz on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the Peace United Church of Christ (900 High Street).
