The Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company presents "Fiddler on the Roof," the groundbreaking, Tony Award winning Broadway musical recalling the bittersweet story of a Jewish family clinging to its sacred traditions in a rapidly changing world. Set in the early 1900s - against the backdrop of growing anti-Semitism in Tsarist Russia - a hardworking, but affable Jewish milkman must cope with the non-traditional choices of his three eldest daughters when each marries and leaves home.

This beloved show, (based on Sholem Aleichem stories by special permission of Arnold Perl, with book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick) features several memorable tunes including "If I Were a Rich Man" and "Far From the Home I Love" plus stirring ensemble numbers including "Tradition," "Sabbath Prayer" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

Directed and choreographed by Nicola Bosco-Alvarez, this full-staged production showcases performers of the Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company featuring 22 young adults from ages 13 to 19 and a youth ensemble featuring children ages 6 to 12 years old. The production is presented with live music orchestration under the musical direction of Jess Hamel, with Zoe Davis.

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2015, the Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company is a teenage performing arts company (sponsored by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and The Friends of the Company) offering instruction in drama, voice, acting, dance and technical theater and the opportunity to experience musical theater at a professional level.

The production is presented tonight, Jan. 30 to Feb. 8, 2015 with performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Jan. 30, 31 and Feb. 6 and 7 and 2 p.m. Sundays Feb. 1 and Feb. 8 at The Randall Museum Theater, 199 Museum Way, San Francisco, Calif. 94114.
