Mother Road Theatre Company presents the modern masterpiece AMERICAN BUFFALO. During one long day in a run-down junk shop, three men of great ambition and low morals plan a heist of a customer's valuable coin collection. When the con goes awry, it's every man for himself. This fast paced drama is all aggression and testosterone, with characters wielding words like weapons to intimidate, cajole and manipulate each other. The results are hilarious, powerful and ultimately tragic in a play that won the 1976 Obie Award for Best New Play, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play and was nominated for two Tony Awards.

A Pulitzer prize-winning playwright, Mamet is an icon of American theater. His famous works include Oleanna, Speed-the-Plow, and Glengarry Glen Ross. He is also the founder of the Atlantic Theatre Company, with actor William H. Macy, whose mission is to put story and playwrights' intentions at the center of their creative processes.

AMERICAN BUFFALO is directed by one of Mother Road Theatre's founders Vic Browder who previously directed Up and co-directed The Jammer with Julia Thudium. He was last seen on-stage as Bob Ewell in the Mother Road - ALT collaboration of To Kill A Mockingbird. AMERICAN BUFFALO stars three incredible local actors Paul Ford, Ryil Adamson and Michael Guajardo.

AMERICAN BUFFALO runs tonight, February 13 through March 1. Performances will be Thursdays through Sundays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. All performances will be held at the Tricklock Performance Laboratory, 110 Gold Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Tickets are available online at motherroad.org or by calling 505-243-0596.
