THREE, a performance group presents, An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare. A retelling of the Trojan War that turns the heroic classic into a bitter personal struggle marked with loss and uncertainties.

An Iliad switches the focus of the Trojan War from epic grandeur to the human soul. An ancient poet, tasked to retell this story for eternity, not only tells the story of that famous war countless years ago, she becomes it. She becomes every soul, every god, and every heartbreak. Long has she lost her identity to this world as she desperately needs her audience to recognize mankind's love of violence, and the humanity it destroys. For her, the Trojan War is not simply a fairy tale, but a true, haunting horror.

An Iliad is a masterful creation that captures the nature of the men who fought it and rediscovers their pains, revelations, and fears. The arch of the war is brought into sharp focus and told as never before.
