foolsFURY to Present FAULTED, 11/14-12/7

(8/29 at 3:28 PM) - Following the success of the fifth FURY Factory festival of ensemble theater, foolsFURY is proud to announce the world premiere of Faulted, a play written by Angela Santillo and directed by Evren Odcikin. Faulted is an ode to California in all its mysterious, tectonic, plate-shifting contradictions. Epic and romance, vegan and carnivore, West side and Central Valley combine under the sign of the next 'Big One,' just looming under the horizon. HMB Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM Begins Tonight

(8/29 at 12:30 AM) - In their third season, the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company will present William Shakespeare's beloved comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Opening Labor Day weekend, the company has moved to downtown Half Moon Bay and will present the play in John L. Carter Memorial Park, located just north of the historic and controversial bridge on Main Street. 'The park is a perfect location for outdoor theatre and since the inception of the company, we have wanted to use it for our productions.' said Company Artistic Director and director of the play, Robert Pickett. 'We felt Midsummer would be the best show to open in the park because of the redwood trees and forest setting. The park is a perfect amphitheatre and set far enough away from the street.' (read...)

Featuring three seasonal concerts with the 250 men of the chorus, Journey includes the festive seasonal show Home For the Holidays at the Nourse Theater on December 12 and 13, 2014; a fearless performance of new commissioned works in Love is... at Davies Symphony Hall on April 1 and 2, 2015; and a celebration of the fabulous music of Sir Elton John in Hello, Yellow Brick Road at Nourse Theatre, June 24 - 26, 2015. Beginning with the annual kick-off preview event, Crescendo at the Four Seasons Hotel on Sunday, September 28, the new season will also commemorate the 25th anniversary performance of Home for the Holidays at the Castro Theatre with three performances on December 24, 2014. In addition, SFGMC will take their legendary holiday performance to Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa on December 6 and Peace United Church of Christ in Santa Cruz on December 7. We Players to Present Site-Specific RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER This Fall

(8/26 at 6:24 PM) - We Players presents an intimate sailing performance of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner aboard the historic scow schooner Alma this fall. This site-integrated production is produced in partnership with San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park with whom We Players has a five-year cooperative agreement - the first partnership of its kind in the nation. In collaboration with National Park Service sailors and rangers, the performance will culminate with conversation inspired by the themes of the poem, immediately following each performance. We Players brings the language of Coleridge's classic work to life through movement, music, and site-integration with historic vessel, Alma.
